One commonly used alternative to mammograms are breast MRI Scans, or contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which have grown in popularity for breast cancer detection screenings. The scan takes 45 minutes to complete. Breast MRIs usually require the use of contrast dye.
