PET-CT Scan

Positron emission tomography (PET) uses radioactive substances to visualize and measure changes in metabolic processes to help diagnose and monitor your internal organs. PET scans are often combined with CT/CAT scans. A PET-CT scan can take several hours to complete as you must first receive the substance intravenously before going into a scanner.
