FAQ

Questions

Do I need a prescription to schedule an appointment?
Yes. You are required to have a valid prescription from your doctor in order to get a medical scan. Need to be seen by a physician? Please visit our resources page and choose a partner who best suits your needs.
How does Medmo work?
We match patients looking for local, affordable, quality medical scans with our network of accredited imaging centers. Our internal Care Team manages the scheduling details so you can focus on getting care. If you’re using insurance we’ll always book you at a center that’s in-network. If you have a high deductible or no insurance we have pre-negotiated self-pay rates that can save you up to 80%. Either way, you’ll get a quality medical scan without a trip to the hospital.
Can I pick my imaging center, or my specific appointment date and time?
At this time we do not offer a directory of centers or the ability to book specific time slots, instead you’ll tell us the specific days and general times of day you are free. By understanding your needs and preferences upfront we’re able to negotiate on your behalf with the imaging centers to book you the most convenient appointment at the best price. If you aren’t happy with your appointment time you can always reschedule. And since all of our centers are accredited you’ll always get a quality scan.
What happens if I miss my appointment or need to reschedule?
We understand that life happens and you may have missed an appointment or need to reschedule. We will reschedule your appointment free of charge. Please email us at [email protected] to reschedule your appointment. If you do not contact us to reschedule your missed appointment, then you may be charged the deposit fee if you did not pay with insurance.
Who are your partnering imaging centers?
High-quality healthcare is our number one priority. We only partner with the best free-standing imaging centers near you. All our imaging partners are audited by our panel of physicians and have active accreditations from the American College of Radiology or Intersocietal Accreditation Committee.
When will my request get confirmed?
Your request will be confirmed within one business day but usually within a few hours. You’ll receive your appointment details via email and text message. If you need to change your availability, reschedule or cancel your appointment you may do so by logging onto your Medmo account or by emailing [email protected].
What is your cancellation policy?
Life happens and we know you might need to reschedule or cancel. If you’re using insurance, although you can cancel any time, we kindly ask that you cancel or reschedule 24 hours before your appointment. For self-pay patients, your deposit will be refunded if you cancel 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Please email us at [email protected] to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
How much does this cost?
If you are using insurance, the imaging center will process your scan through the insurance company itself. There may or may not be a co-pay. If you choose to pay for the scan yourself without insurance (self-pay) then the cost depends on the type of scan you select. Medmo offers exclusive discounted negotiated rates that can save you up to 80%. Before you book, you will see the estimated price of your scan early in the process.
Are your partnering centers high-quality?
Yes. We only partner with high-quality imaging centers with active accreditations from the American College of Radiology or Intersocietal Accreditation Committee.
What radiology scans can I book?
We can facilitate almost all types of scans — including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammogram, nuclear scans (PET), DEXA, X-rays, and others.
How do I know what scan I need?
To schedule an imaging scan, you will need a prescription from your doctor which tells you what type of scan you need to order. For more information about specific scans, see our scan services page.
What if I’m not satisfied with my appointment for some reason?
Contact us at [email protected] about your issues or concerns. We’ll make sure we resolve anything that comes up, If we can’t fix it, the scan will be cancelled at no charge.
Can I use my insurance?
Yes, as long as you have a prescription we will only book you in a center that will be covered by your insurance plan as in-network.
Where do the results go?
Your referring doctor will receive a copy of the report, and you’ll get a copy of the images and report as well when they are ready.
Can I apply a self-pay rate towards my insurance deductible?
No, you can’t apply our exclusive self-pay rates towards your deductible, however, you might be able to use your FSA or HSA account depending on your plan.
If I have special needs for my scan what do I do?
You’ll be able to add additional comments when submitting your scan, so you can include any information the center needs to know. You can also email us at [email protected] if you want to discuss specific needs.
Is my information secure?
Yes, we are HIPAA compliant and treat privacy and data security with the utmost importance.
